Amanda’s Mythathon TBR

Hi, lovelies! Yes, I am here with another TBR post today. There are just so many good readathons happening this month! So this particular readathon is called Myth-A-Thon and it’s hosted by the always wonderful Jesse from Bowties & Books. This is a month-long readathon with four different teams. Each captain has been cast as a mythic God and associated with the four elements. I’ve chosen to be on Team Hades – Fire because I am a Leo and it is Leo season and also I love Hades a lot. So this was the perfect team for me. There are a few challenges for this months reading so let’s get to it!

Hades is the God of flame: Read a hotly anticipated book

How to Make Friends with the Dark by Kathleen Glasgow

Hades famously possesses an invisible cap: Read a book about a protagonist who is invisible to society

The Storm Runner by J.C. Cervantes

Hades also owns a chair of forgetfulness: Read a book you’ve been shelving for far too long

The Thousandth Floor by Katharine McGee

Hades collects subjects for his kingdom and won’t let them leave: Read a book where the main characters must escape an immoral rule

These Rebel Waves by Sara Raasch

Read the group book

A Curse so Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer
I’ve already read this so I’m going to read another BATB retelling:
Beastly by Alex Flinn

This is what I’ve come up with for Myth-A-Thon! I’ve tried to mix a few books here and there from my two other TBR lists so that I can manage to share books for all the different challenges I’m going to attempt to complete this month. Let me know what you’ll be reading this August below!

Keep on reading lovelies, Amanda.

WWW Wednesday

WWW Wednesday

Hey, bookworms! It’s that day of the week again where we participate in the wonderful bookish post that was formerly hosted by Should be Reading and was recently taken over by Taking on a World of Words. To play along just answer three questions to give an update about what you’re currently reading, going to read next and have read recently. Feel free to leave your answers in the comments or link your post!

What are you currently reading?

Amanda- I’m currently reading War Storm by Victoria Aveyard. I’m hoping to finish it today.

Antonia- I’m currently ready Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas.

What did you recently finish reading?

Amanda- the book I most recently finished was Aru Shah and the End of Time by Roshani Chokshi and I adored it.

Antonia- I most recently finished Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas.

What do you think you will read next?

Amanda- Next, I will read one of several options I need to read before Monday: An Anonymous Girl by Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen for my book club, an arc of Serious Moonlight by Jenn Bennett, or Red Sister by Mark Lawrence which is due back to the library soon.

Antonia- Next I’ll read Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas. Can you tell I’m on a Throne of Glass binge?

Thanks for reading our W’s this week. What are yours? Leave them in the comments or leave us a link to your post.

Amanda’s Contemporary-A-Thon TBR List

Hi, lovelies! I’m sure you’re thinking,  “Amanda, how can you have any contemporary books left to read after Contemporary January?” And yet, I still have plenty of books to participate in this fabulous readathon hosted by Chelsea Dolling ReadsNatasha @ My Reading is OddJulie @ Pens and Pages, and Melanie @ Mel to the Any. This readathon will be happening starting Monday, February 11th through Sunday, February 17th.

There are seven challenges for contemporaryathon. I have picked a book for each challenge because I’m always overly ambitious. The challenges and the books I have chosen are as follows.

Read the most recent contemporary book you purchased/acquired

Eliza and her Monsters by Francesca Zappia

Read a book with blurple (blue or purple lol) on the cover

Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson

Read a diverse contemporary (keeping in mind that it is Black History Month!)

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

Read a dark/emotional/hard-hitting contemporary

A Heart in a Body in the World by Deb Caletti

Read a contemporary that you meant to read in 2018 but didn’t

Bridge of Clay by Markus Zusak

Read a contemporary in a non-traditional format

The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo

Read a contemporary with some sort of picture on the spine

The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson

These are the books on my TBR list for Contemporary-A-Thon! I’m going to do my best to read all of them, but who knows what will happen. Are you going to participate in this readathon? What will you be reading?

Keep on reading lovelies, Amanda.

Happy New Year lovelies! The time has come to close out the last readathon of the year! For those of you that don’t know, I teamed up with Vicky @ What Vicky Read to bring you End of Yearathon (click here to read the announcement post). We thought this would be the perfect readathon for anyone that needed some motivation to read a few more books to meet their personal goals, GoodReads goals, or just to read those books that you didn’t manage to pick up yet. Feel free to check out my TBR list with the books I wanted to read here. This readathon started on December 26th and lasted until today (the 1st of January). I’m here today to share with you how I did this week.

City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare
Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
Girls Made of Snow and Glass by Melissa Basherdoust
People Kill People by Ellen Hopkins
Look Alive Twenty-Five by Janet Evanovich

These are the books I managed to read for the readathon! The first two were audiobooks and the last three were phyisical books. My goal was to read five books and I succeeded, though they were not all the same five books that were on my TBR list. I had so much fun chatting on Twitter and Instagram with everyone that participated. I already can’t wait until we can host again next year!

Did you participate in End of Yearathon? Link me in your wrap up so I can see what books you read! Or comment below and let me know if that’s better for you!
