Blogmas Day Twenty-Six: Amanda’s End of Yearathon TBR

Hello, lovelies! It’s that time of year again, the always wonderful Vicky (from What Vicky Read) and I are back to host another end-of-the-year, last-minute readathon. Like all the previous years, the only thing we care about for this readathon is that you read with us to close out the year! But, for those of you like me, we have five prompts that we change a smidge each year. This year’s prompts are shared below. I’m also sharing the book I think I’ll read for this, but I’ve been mood reading so I might not follow them this year.

Amanda’s Magical Readathon: Orilium – The Novice Path TBR

Hi, lovelies! G has returned to us with a brand new version of The Magical Readathon! I’m honestly beyond excited about this because I loved the Magical Readathon in the past years when I did it. But with the author of the series that inspired the readathon being hugely transphobic, G has recreated this readathon with a brand new world of her own creation. I’m in awe of the amount of time and effort that it must have taken to think up and plan and organize everything for this. Above is the ‘Novice Path’ which is the path I must take if I want to make it to Orilium and attend the academy there. To successfully venture on the Novice Path, I must complete two prompts, but I’m going to go for all seven. Each prompt must have their own book. Amanda’s Tome Topple TBR

Hi, lovelies! I’ve just seen the announcement for Sam’s latest round of Tome Topple (watch the announcement video here.) You can find all of the hosts of the readathon here: Sam from Thoughts on Tomes, Adri from Perpetual Page, Sam 2 from Will Read For Booze, Gaia from @lalettricesegreta on Instagram, Tori from Tori Morrow, Jocelyn from Yogi With A Book. I love this readathon because it’s a great motivator for me to finally pick up some of the bigger books that I have on my TBR. The rules for this readathon are simple: read books that are 500 pages or longer. There is a fun bingo board for this round and I will list the prompts below. This round of Tome Topple will run from March 15th-28th.

This has been on my TBR for so long and I’ve put it on several TBR’s for previous Tome Topple rounds. I honestly probably won’t get to this one, but I like to have options when I make TBR’s like this.

I’ve been rereading this series via audiobook so that I can read the newest release (Winterkeep), so this is the perfect choice for this prompt.

Technically, the next book in this series is the tome with the most pages that’s on my TBR. But obviously I have to finish this one first. This one will count for several prompts too since I will probably continue the audiobook that I started the last round of Tome Topple.

Amanda’s Olympic Games TBR

Hiii, lovelies! I’m back with another TBR post. I’ve been trying not to do so many readathons this year because I feel like it stressed me out a bit too much last year. I’ve done some low key without posting anything about it (aside from on Twitter). But this one sounds like too much fun and I have to participate. Amanda’s O.W.L.’s Readathon TBR List

Hey, lovelies! I’ve been trying to chill out with the readathons this year and I think I’ve done pretty well. I’ve participated (low key without posting anything) in a few but nothing too crazy. I’m feeling like I’m heading into a reading slump so I thought the OWLs would be a good way to keep me motivated. For the 2020 OWLs, I’ve decided to go with the career of “Trader or Magical Tomes” because doesn’t that just sound wicked cool? The description for this career that G has created literally starts off “Have books always been your one true love?” Like yes, sign me the hell up. I have to pass four OWLs to succeed in this readathon. I’ll explain which four and what their prompts are below, as well as what books I’ll be reading for each subject.

Amanda’s Mythathon TBR

Hi, lovelies! Yes, I am here with another TBR post today. There are just so many good readathons happening this month! So this particular readathon is called Myth-A-Thon and it’s hosted by the always wonderful Jesse from Bowties & Books. This is a month-long readathon with four different teams. Magical Readathon – O.W.L. Exams TBR

Hi bookworms, Amanda here! I was recently scrolling through Twitter when I saw Books in the Skye share something about a readathon based on the N.E.W.T exams from the Harry Potter books. I did a little more digging and saw that I sadly missed out on the O.W.L exam readathon, hosted over on YouTube by Book Roast, that took place originally in April. I decided that I could either skip the O.W.L.s and just take whatever N.E.W.T.s I felt like doing or I could do the O.W.L. exams anyway. I have decided that I’m going to take the O.W.L. exams anyway. So I will start this challenge tomorrow, August 2nd, and I will try to complete as many exams as I can until the 29th.

The following grades are awarded for the overall OWLs performance:

 

Pass

Outstanding – sit and pass at least 5 OWLs
Exceeded Expectations – sit and pass at least 3 OWLs
Acceptable – sit and pass at least 2 OWLs

Fail

Poor – sit only one OWL
Dreadful – start but not finish any OWLs tasks
Troll – do not show up at your OWLs examinations

I don’t expect to read all of these books but I’m someone that does well with options so I wanted to give myself a variety of books to choose from throughout this reading challenge. I’m going to aim to read at least five of these books. Wish me luck!
