End of Year-A-Thon: Round Four!

Hello, lovelies! Can you believe we’re already almost at the end of 2021? I absolutely cannot. This year has totally flown by. There has been good and bad for me. We moved and found out that we’re having another baby. So, it’s certainly been an exciting year. As for reading, it’s been a pretty good year for me, but there are always more books to read. And to help with that, Vicky and I are bringing End of Year-A-Thon back for its fourth year! If you’ve been a follower of this blog for a while you’ll know what that is. But if you’re new here, let me explain!

End of Year-A-Thon runs from December 26th to December 31st, starting and ending at midnight in your local time zone. Vicky from What Vicky Read and I thought it would be fun to create a readathon for the final days of the year to read just a few more books. I don’t know about you, but I definitely haven’t read all the books from my ‘books I’m going to read in 2021’ lists I made back in January. I also am going to need that final push to meet my GoodReads reading challenge. So, we’ve planned five prompts to help us read those books we were definitely going to read in 2021, but haven’t yet. This is a super flexible readathon, so use the prompts or don’t, just read with us as we close out the year!

Read a book released in 2021

Read a book from a series you’ve started but haven’t finished

Read a book by an own voices author

Read one of your most recently acquired books (whether bought, borrowed, gifted, etc.)

Read a book with gold on the cover

Well, there you have it. End of Year-A-Thon is back for its fourth year and these are our five prompts for this year. End of Year-A-Thon: Round Three!

Hello, lovelies! If you’ve been here a while you might already know what this announcement post is about (since it’s the third year this is being done), but if you’re new here hello! and welcome! Today I am here to talk about a readathon that I co-host with the wonderful Vicky over at What Vicky Read. We are back for the third year of End of Year-A-Thon, the last hoorah of readathons to get those books you said you were definitely going to read back in January. We’re here to help you add a few more ‘read’ books to that GoodReads goal of yours. If neither of those things are on your list of concerns, then for you we’re just here to give you a chance to read some books with friends before 2020 ends.

Let’s get into the details. End of Year-A-Thon will start on December 26th (at midnight in your timezone) and it will end on December 31st (again, at midnight in your timezone–Happy New Year!) We have five prompts this year that we’ve changed a bit. Feel free to use the prompts or not. This is a pretty flexible readathon, so you may combine as many prompts as you want. If you have one book that fits all five, great! Any kind of book will count, so grab those graphic novels, pick up your headphones and start listening to those audiobooks you’ve been meaning to start. Or don’t do anything of those things and just pick some books at random and read along with us!

Read a 2020 release

Read a book written by a BIPOC author

Read your most recently acquired book (borrowed, bought, gifted, etc.)

Read a book with a star on the cover

Read a book from a series you’ve already started, but haven’t finished

So, these are the prompts we’ve chosen. I will personally be choosing one book for each prompt because, as I’ve said in the past, I like to have options when I’m doing readathons because I’m a mood reader. I can’t wait to see what everyone will be choosing for their TBR’s. I’ll be posting my TBR toward the beginning of December, but feel free to post yours whenever and don’t forget to link Vicky and me so we can see it! I’m going to link some stuff down below so you can all make sure to get all the updates. Let me know if you’re thinking of participating in the comments!

End of Year-A-Thon: Round Two!

Hello, lovelies! The ever wonderful Vicky @ What Vicky Read and I are back again this year to host one of the final readathons of the year, End of Year-A-Thon! Last year, we came up with this readathon as that last-ditch attempt to reach our GoodReads goals, to read those last few books we swore we’d read in 2019, and to have fun reading with friends in the final few days of the year.

Somehow my TBR has gotten even longer than it was this time last year, despite reading over 200 books so far in 2019. And I’m sure I’m not alone in this. We all struggle from the ever-growing TBR lists. This readathon is here to help!

Remember all those books we talked about in January that we definitely planned to read in 2019? Well, if you’re like me, you’ve only read a handful of those. We have come up with a few changes to the prompts we created last year, that will hopefully assist in finishing off those last few books you’ve been dying to read before the end of the year.

There are six prompts, which I know seems like a lot, but feel free to use one book for more than one prompt. Combine however you see fit or don’t use the prompts at all, just come and read with us from December 26th until December 31st.

Prompts:

Read a 2019 release

Read a book with a red cover

Read a book from a series you haven’t finished

Read a book under 300 pages

Read a book released before 2019

Read a diverse book

Personally, I will be selecting one book for each prompt because I’m a lady that needs options to choose from when doing readathons. I’ve already started thinking about what books I will be including in my TBR  for this. My TBR post will be coming in early December, so keep an eye out for that!
