Blogmas Day Twenty-Two: Five Star Predictions Wrap Up

Hello! We’re back to wrap up another round of five-star predictions. We shared these for Blogtober and managed to read some of them for once. Here’s what we thought!

Amanda’s Predictions

Kiss Her Once For Me by Alison Cochrun
I finally read this and I really loved it. It was absolutely the perfect holiday season romance.

Astrid Parker Doesn’t Fail by Ashley Herring Blake
I knew this one was going to hurt me emotionally and it certainly did. Five stars for sure.

Good Morning, Midnight by Lily Brooks-Dalton
This book was strange in a way that I really enjoyed. I don’t think five stars, but I would definitely recommend it.

Antonia’s Predictions

A Prayer for the Crown-Shy by Becky Chambers
I absolutely loved this. It was the perfect continuation of Dex and Mosscap’s story. Definitely a five star read for me.

The Choice by Nora Roberts
I really loved this one. I thought it was a perfect ending to this series and really tied everything up for me.

Children of Ragnarok by Cinda Williams Chima
I found this one really interesting. It was hard for me to get into initially with all the unusual terms but once I did I could hardly put it down. The ending was a little anticlimactic but still five stars overall.

Someone give us a high-five! We both managed to read all of our predictions! Do you have any upcoming reads that you think will be five stars?

Blogmas Day Twelve: Five Star Predictions Wrap Up!

Hello, bookworms! We’ve reached the end of another round of 5-star predictions. We’re going to wrap up our last predictions, but we won’t be making any new predictions until the new year. We are both mood readers, so we’re going to give ourselves some time without a list of books that we need to read for blog posts. So, expect our five start predictions to continue, but not until the new year.

Amanda’s Predictions

The Hawthorne Legacy by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
This was indeed 5-stars. I loved the first book and I loved this one just as much. I absolutely cannot wait for the third book in this series to see what else could possibly happen to these characters.

The Last Legacy by Adrienne Young
I did really enjoy this book, but it wasn’t quite a 5-star read for me.

Pahua and the Soul Stealer by Lori M. Lee
I absolutely devoured this book. I have loved all of the books that have come out of Rick Riordan Presents and this book was no different. This was an easy book to give five stars to.

Antonia’s Predictions

Furyborn by Claire Legrand
I actually momentarily DNF’d this one. I really liked the world and was intrigued by the plot but had a few issues early on that made it really hard for me to connect. I do plan to try this one again soon when I’m in the mood for it.

Winterkeep by Kristen Cashore
I’d definitely rate this one five stars. I loved all the characters, especially the POV’s of the non-human characters because they were so unique and fun. There were parts where the story slowed down a bit but the action would pick up again fairly quickly and kept me hooked enough that I read most of the book in just a couple sittings.

Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder
I really liked this one but don’t think it quite hit five stars for me. It was really close but it took me a little while to connect with Yelena in the beginning and I had a few issues with her and Valek’s relationship. That being said, I really liked the story and world building and have high hopes for the rest of the series.

There you have it, our last round for 2021 of five-star predictions. What was your most recent five star read?

Blogtober Day Eighteen: Five Star Predictions – Round Four!

Hi, friends! We’re back with another round of five star predictions. We only predicted three books in the last round and it still took us forever to do an update about them. Here’s our update!

Amanda’s Predictions

Miss Meteor by Anna-Marie McLemore & Tehlor Kay Mejia
I did give this one five stars! I loved the magical realism with a bit of a science fiction twist. The story was diverse and compelling. It was a slow and stunning story about self acceptance. I absolutely recommend this one.

Jade City by Fonda Lee
I haven’t read this one, but I am actually planning to buddy read the whole series with my friend Skye in November.

Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
I loved this book. I didn’t give it five stars, but I did really like the story. I thought the mythology aspect and the historical aspect of the story were excellent and I didn’t feel like I was missing out going into the story with no knowledge about this mythology. I also just loved the characters. We follow an all powerful god and a girl that just wants to escape her small town. I loved them both.

Antonia’s Predictions

The Dark Prophecy by Rick Riordan
I haven’t actually gotten around to this one yet. I really liked the first book in the series but just haven’t been able to get myself in the mood for this one. I’m hoping to get around to it by the end of this year.

The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi
I really liked this one but I’d have to give it four stars. I had some trouble connecting with the characters for most of the book and wasn’t in love with certain aspects of the plot but will definitely be continuing the series.

Legacy by Nora Roberts
I don’t think I can give this one five stars either. I loved it as I do all of Nora’s books but it wasn’t one of my favorites. I loved the characters and the relationships between them. My problem was with the overall storyline. The build up felt really slow for the majority of the book then the climax and conclusion just sort of dropped in suddenly at the end.

As usual, we are going to share some more predictions! We are going to stick with three since we continually didn’t read all five.

Amanda’s Predictions

The Hawthorne Legacy by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

The Last Legacy by Adrienne Young

Pahua and the Soul Stealer by Lori M. Lee

Antonia’s Predictions

Furyborn by Claire Legrand

Winterkeep by Kristen Cashore

Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder

We will check in again for Blogmas to see what we thought of these six books! What books are on your TBR that you think you’ll love?

Five Star Predictions – Round Three!

Hello, bookworms! During Blogtober and Blogmas we decided to try to predict a few books that we thought would be five star reads (find them here and here). We thought it was fun to predict what books we might love and then see how right or wrong we were, so, we decided to keep it going outside of October and December. Today we are going to wrap up our last five predictions and then come up with some new books that we think we will love. We both will be choosing books we already own (or plan to buy soon) because we’re working on getting our TBR that we own a bit smaller.

Amanda’s Prediction Wrap Up

The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by N.K. Jemisin
I haven’t managed to pick this one up yet. It’s on my list for the summer, so hopefully soon.

The Ever Cruel Kingdom by Rin Chupeco
I was right with my prediction! I absolutely loved this book. The characters are amazing and the things they do and go through made the story so great. I highly recommend this series. The world is fascinating. There’s compelling characters and relationships.

Things You Save in a Fire by Katherine Center
This one wasn’t 5 stars, but I did enjoy it. I think it was really interesting to read about a female firefighter moving from a station she considers home to one that has some really terrible opinions on female firefighters. I didn’t love the romance, but I liked the main character.

The Bone Shard Daughter by Andrea Stewart
I didn’t read this one yet. I really want to, but I’ve been rereading a lot lately instead of reading new things.

The Ravens by Danielle Paige & Kass Morgan
While this wasn’t quite 5 stars, I had a really good time reading it. I think it would have been higher rated for me if not for the petty dislike between the two main characters. This was resolved before the end of the book, thankfully. I liked the magic and the sisterhood and I’m definitely excited for the sequel.

Antonia’s Predictions Wrap Up

Seven Devils by Elizabeth May and Laura Lam
I LOVED this one. Definitely five stars. The characters were amazing, well developed and each had their own unique personalities. The futuristic world was so cool and I really appreciated seeing all the little details of it. I can’t wait for the second book.

To Sleep in A Sea of Stars by Christopher Paolini
I still haven’t been able to get to this one but I’m hoping to soon.

The Awakening by Nora Roberts
I also really loved this one and Nora’s forever my favorite so five stars for this one too. I can’t wait to see where the rest of this story goes.

The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan
I think this one fell just a smidge short of five stars only because Apollo’s narration took a little getting used to. I liked his character development and I get that his arrogance and non-human traits are sort of the point but it was really weird having a protagonist that’s so unlikable.

Stardust by Neil Gaiman
I’d have to give this one four stars. I really enjoyed it and I’ve loved the movie for years. Some of the differences from the movie I liked and some I didn’t but it was a really fun read.

These are our previous predictions and what we thought about the books. I think we did had a mix of books we loved and just liked. For the next round of predictions, we’re going to keep it to three since neither of us have been managing to read all five predictions.

Amanda’s Predictions

Miss Meteor by Anna-Marie McLemore & Tehlor Kay Mejia

Jade City by Fonda Lee

Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

Antonia’s Predictions

The Dark Prophecy by Rick Riordan

The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi

Legacy by Nora Roberts

These are our next three predictions, a few books we think we will completely love. Do you have any books you own that you think will be five star reads?

Blogtober Day Twenty-Four: Five Star Predictions

Hello, bookworms! Today we are here with a fun topic: books we think will be 5 star reads. We both have so many great sounding books oon our TBR’s so we thought it would be fun to list a few that we think will be five stars. We’re thinking that when Blogmas comes around we will do a wrap up post where we talk about what the actual ratings of these predictions are and maybe even predict a few more!

Amanda’s Predictions

The Library of the Unwritten by A.J. Hackwith

The Love That Split the World by Emily Henry

The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by N.K. Jemisin

Wild Beauty by Anna-Marie McLemore

Paola Santiago and the River of Tears by Tehlor Kay Mejia

Antonia’s Predictions

House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas

Seven Devils by Elizabeth May and Laura Lam

Rules for Being a Girl by Candice Bushnell & Katie Cotugno

To Sleep in a Sea of Stars by Christopher Paolini

The Never Tilting World by Rin Chupeco

These are the books we think we will love (that we plan to read relatively soon). What books on your TBR do you predict to be new favorites?
