Amanda’s Top Ten Tuesday – Dream Book Adaptations

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Each week we talk about our top ten with a different topic provided by Jana. This week’s topic is Books that Should be Adapted into Netflix Shows/Movies.

Burn Our Bodies Down by Rory Power
This would make such a good and creepy Netflix series. The suspense and mystery of this town are perfect for a Halloween season show.

Aru Shah and the End of Time by Roshani Chokshi
I would love either a show or several movies for this series. This would be such a good one to be adapted (after Disney finishes with Percy Jackson maybe?)

There Will Come a Darkness by Katy Rose Pool
I literally have no idea how it would happen but I need it. I need these disaster children on my screen.

The Final Six by Alexandra Monir
This would be a great Netflix show. The world ending because of climate change and teenagers training to be astronauts in a mission to terraform a new world? Yes, please. The way this story is written would be perfect for a show too.

Ashlords by Scott Reintgen
What an incredible movie this book would make. Phoenix horses? Yes.

American Royals by Katharine McGee
This would make a great Gossip Girl sort of show. It’s so full of drama and similar relationship dynamics like GG.

The Study of Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro
I absolutely need this boarding school mystery as a tv show.

Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson
I think this boarding school mystery would make a great movie (or two.)

House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig
A movie of this horrifying Twelve Dancing Princesses retelling? Absolutely 100% yes. I think this would be great for the spooky season too.

The Calculating Stars by Mary Robinette Kowal
There are a few movies out there already that are sort of like this (Hidden Figures) but this one is an alternate reality. A meteorite hits the Earth and the world may not have much time left. But Lady Astronauts to the rescue!

These are just a few of the books I’d love to see adapted by Netflix. What books are on your list this week?

Keep on reading lovelies, Amanda.
