Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. This week’s topic is School Freebie. I’m choosing books with schools/ training programs.
The Outstretched Shadow by Mercedes Lackey and James Mallory
The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
Skyward by Brandon Sanderson
Daughter of the Deep by Rick Riordan
Alta by Mercedes Lackey
The Awakening by Nora Roberts
Love, Jacaranda by Alex Flinn
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
Bloodlines by Richelle Mead
Looking for Alaska by John Green
The Exiled Queen by Cinda Williams Chima
What books with schools do you love?
Oh Name of the Wind is a great choice. I loved that book (not so much the second) as I’m partial to magical schools. Great list!
Thanks! I liked both but they definitely had different vibes.
Great post, I schools that train the characters to be assassins and spy’s etc. such as Nevernight or Etiquette and Espionage
Thanks! I agree, I lean more toward training than actual school settings.
I just finished The Name of the Wind a couple of months ago. It was really good!
I love both of them! I’m a little annoyed the third one still isn’t out though.
Great post! I like your take on this weeks freebie – I’ve wanted to read Alta for so long (that cover! I love it!) and I really enjoyed Bloodlines. Here’s my TTT! Have a great week 😊 https://hundredsandthousandsofbooks.blog/2022/08/30/ttt-30-8-22-why-were-these-books-banned-should-they-stay-banned/
Thanks! They’re two of my favorite series.
