Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. This week’s topic is books I would hand to someone who claims to not like reading.
The Martian by Andy Weir – This book is wonderful for people who don’t read a lot because it’s told from Mark Watney’s perspective in the form of a log/diary he keeps so it feels more like he’s talking to you than reading about him.
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo – Who doesn’t love a crazy heist story?
Cinder by Marissa Meyer – I think this one is a great recommendation because it’s a Cinderella retelling with a sci-fi twist.
The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan – These books definitely aren’t just for kids. They’re super fun and have an awesome story.
Graceling by Kristin Cashore – This one is a great starter fantasy because it’s not too long and has really unique magic.
That’s all I could come up with this week. What books would you recommend to non readers?
Great list! I found Six of Crows unputdownable, so I think it’s a great recommendation for people who don’t usually read.
Same! I couldn’t read it fast enough.
