Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Each week we talk about our top ten with a different topic provided by Jana. This week’s topic is The Last Ten Books I Abandoned (this could be books you DNFed, books you decided you were no longer interested in, etc.) (submitted by Claire @ Book Lovers Pizza)
Collateral by Ellen Hopkins
Meet Me at Midnight by Jessica Pennington
A Reaper at the Gates by Sabaa Tahir

Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir
A Northern Light by Jennifer Donnelly
The Dragon Republic by R.F. Kuang
Enchantee by Gita Trelease
These are the last ten books I DNF’d. I don’t DNF all that often as I’m pretty good at knowing what kinds of books I like, so some of these are from 2019. What books made your list this week?
Keep on reading lovelies, Amanda.
I don’t know any of these books… so… that’s a good thing, right?
Hah! Maybe! Some of them are really well loved.
Great list! Sorry to hear you DNF’d Gideon the Ninth – that’s one I’d like to check out.
From what I’ve seen people either really loved it or really didn’t. Hope you’re one of the first group!
I should have DNF’ ed Gideon the ninth as well haha!
My post!
Glad I’m not the only one who DNF’d The Light Between Worlds…I found it so boring…
I’m not big on historical fiction. For me to read it I really have to be sucked in quickly.
Same here, depending on the time period. For me, the genre wasn’t quite the problem, more just that I was bored out of my mind…
Yeah I think it was a bit of both for me. And then I was basically thinking that I was Narnia and I didn’t care because I’ve read the Narnia books hah.
I see two of my 5-star books on that list, but as a person who DNFs all the time, I get quitting a book that is not working for you.
A few of these are very well loved books. I even tried a few of them more than once (A Reaper at the Gates *cough cough*)
