Happy April lovelies! It’s April first and that means it’s time for the Magical Readathon! If you don’t know what that is, check out G’s video about it here! If you don’t feel like watching that I’m going to quickly sum it up by letting you know that it’s a Harry Potter related readathon where everyone participating will be taking the O.W.L. Exams. Each exam has a prompt to choose a book and each book you read is an O.W.L. completed (which is important for when the N.E.W.T.s come around!) Picking my TBR for this was a challenge for sure, but here’s what I’ve come up with.
Ancient Runes – Retelling
Cinder by Marissa Meyer
Arithmancy – Work written by more than one author
An Anonymous Girl by Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen
Astronomy – “Star” in the title
The Calculating Stars by Mary Robinette Kowal
Care of Magical Creatures – Land animal on the cover
Aru Shah and the End of Time by Roshani Chokshi
Charms – Age line: Read an adult work
Red Sister by Mark Lawrence
Defense Against the Dark Arts – Reducto: Title starts with an ‘R’
Red, White, & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
Divination – Set in the future
A Closed and Common Orbit by Becky Chambers
Herbology – Plant on the cover
Broken Things by Lauren Oliver
History of Magic – Published at least 10 years ago
The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
Muggle Studies – Contemporary
Serious Moonlight by Jenn Bennett
Potions – Next Ingredient: Sequel
The Shadowglass by Rin Chupeco
Transfiguration – Sprayed edges or red cover
Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare
Who else is taking the O.W.L.s this month? Are we reading any of the same books? What career are you aiming for?
Keep on reading lovelies, Amanda.
I finished Serious Moonlight last night! I hope you enjoy it 🙂 I was thinking about reading Anonymous Girl for Arithmancy too but I accidentally left it at home.
Awh! It’s my book club book this month!
Your book club sounds so fun 🙂 I wish I had one like that, haha.
I was lucky to have found it the way I did! I met them at the b&n book club!
That’s awesome! I haven’t read the last two B&N Book Club books, I haven’t been interested unfortunately.
I haven’t read any since Hank Greens book!
The last one I read was The Only Woman in the Room and it was okay but a little boring to be honest. I think Hank Green’s book was the only one I truly enjoyed!
I never picked up any of the others because they just didn’t sounds interesting to me. And they only seem to pick new books! So they’re expensive!!
Yeah I thought I’d give the others a try but they were a bit dry. That’s true!
Oh I’m also participating 🙂 Have fun!

What are you planning to read?!
I’m going for alchemist so I have twelve books to read haha 🙂 but I’m starting with the audiobook for hunted and the physical book for Do you dream of Terra-two? 🙂
I’m participating! I don’t what career to go for, so I’m focusing on 6 OWLs
(Arithmacy, Care of Magical Creatures, Defense Against the Dark Arts,
Divination, Herbology, Muggle Studies).
Good luckkk! You have some fun and exciting reads on your TBR. I’m so excited.
I don’t know what career I’m going for either but I’m aiming to finish all of the OWLs so that I can choose whatever I want when it comes time for the NEWTs.
